"I intend on being a role model for my community at East Los Angeles College and spreading it through our sister schools and advocate to open safe spaces to hold meetings and get feedback on how we can support each other and ensure that everyone is getting the services they need."
M.R.
"Giving back to the populations that I identify with most is very important to me. My ultimate goal is to become a lawyer and be able to provide services to those who need them most. I plan to one day be able to open up a program that serves young people of color who identify as LGBTQ+ people."
J.Z.
"Modern life relies a lot upon the innovations of construction, engineering, and architecture, and developments in these areas can make our lives more convenient, enjoyable, and colorful. Playing a role in one of these professional progression fields is incredibly important to me and making a true success I can put what I have learned in the academic community to the real practical vigorously developing world."
V.S.
"I have always had a yearning to aid the homeless population and one of my goals is to get involved in community medicine that specifically targets the homelessness issue in the Los Angeles area. Had it not been for ELAC and the programs I have been a part of, I do not think that I would have the confidence and knowledge to know that I can make a difference in the world, and I am very grateful I have had this opportunity."
